RELIGION
Whenever conflict arises between material and spiritual values, the conscience plays and important role and anyone who suffers from a guilty conscience is never really free of this problem until he makes peace with himself and his conscience.
Discipline of the mind is a basic ingredient of genuine morality and therefore of spiritual strength
Spiritual Power is the eternal guide, in this life and life after, for man ranks supreme among all creatures. Led forward to spiritual power, man can reach the summit destined for him by the Great Creator.
Since nobody can interfere in the realm of God we should tolerate and live side by side with those of other faiths.
In the mystic traditions of the different Religions we have a remarkable unity of spirit. Whatever Religion they may profess, they are spiritual kinsman. While the different Religions in their historic forms bind us to limited groups and militate against the development of loyalty to the world community, the mystics have already stood for the fellowship of humanity... in harmony with the spirit of the mystics of ages gone by.
PROGRESS
Progress must be moral. It is important that spiritual advancement keep pace with material advancements. When this comes to be realized, man's journey towards higher and more lasting values will show more marked progress while evil in him recedes into the ground. Knowing that material and spiritual progress are essential to man, we must ceaselessly work for the equal attainment of both. Only then shall we be able to acquire that absolute inner calm so necessary to our well being.
LEADERSHIP
"We all know that the need for good leadership in every walk of life is much greater today than ever before. Every aspect of living demands guiding hands, business, the professions, fine arts, the mechanical arts. All of you young people who have been given the opportunity of an advanced education will in the future be called upon to shoulder, in varying degrees, the responsibilities to leading and serving the nation.
It is important however to remember that Leadership does not mean domination. The world is always well supplied with people who wish to rule and dominate others. The true leader is of a different sort. He seeks effective activity which has a truly beneficent purpose. He inspires others to follow in his wake, and holding aloft the torch of wisdom leads the way for society to realize its genuinely great aspirations..... A love of high quality we must remember is essential in a Leader.
The present conditions in the world today are cause for much concern in every way. Governments are unstable, economies are under great stress, nations are perplexed. Terms like recession, inflation, sickness, drug abuse, unemployment, poverty, political. Much of the poverty today has little to do with lack of resources. The selfish ambitions and personal gains of individuals are motivated by greed in direct violation of Jah Principles. Jah is love.
Ethiopia the land of our fathers, The Land where our RASTAFARI loves to be As the swift bee to hive sudden gathers, Thy children are gathered to thee, With our Green, Gold and Red floating o'er us, With our Emperor to shield us from wrong, With our RASTAFARI and our future before us, We will hail thee with shout and with chant.
CHORUS
Rastafari bless our Negus, Negus I
Who keeps Ethiopia free,
To advance, with truth and right
To advance, with love and light
With righteousness pleading,
We haste our Jah and King
Humanity leading one Jah for us all
O eternal thou RASTAFARI of this ages, Grant unto us sons that lead, Thy wisdom is given to our ages, When RASTA was sore in need, Thy voice thro the dim past has spoken, Ethiopia shall stretch forth her hands, By thee shall all barriers be broken, And Zion bless our dear Father Land.
Ethiopia the tyrants are falling, Who smote thee upon they knees, Thy children are Heartically calling, From over the distant seas, RASTAFARI the great one has heard us, He has noted our sighs and tears, With the spirit of love he has heard us To be one, all through the coming years.
